Our names are Randy and Mary James, we live just north east of Drumheller.

We bought a grade pony at an auction sale three years ago and had her bred so we would have two ponies for the grandchildren and nephews to ride.  We bred the pony to a welsh stallion and got a wonderful half welsh filly.

 

My husband mentioned one day that I needed another job, like I needed another job?!!!! But the mention of raising welsh ponies sounded like a wonderful idea.  We had 8 horses when we started raising and training the ponies and now we only have 2 horses.  We love the ponies, we train them to ride and drive.  The ponies can do so much, that we reduced our herd of horses and increased the herd of ponies.  Now we have quite a number of ponies that we spend a great deal of time with and really enjoy it.
